Greek Island Wedding Inspiration
Are you dreaming of getting married in the wonderful Mediterranean, on a Greek Island? Then this inspiration may be just perfect for you. Through my brand design atelier, I recently had the opportunity to develop and design the new brand for Stella and Moscha (formerly known as Weddings in Santorini). They are really talented top notch Greek Island wedding designers, and it was a pleasure to help them do their work justice with a custom-tailored new brand design. I’m so excited for them: their new website and Greek Island Wedding Inspirations blog went live this weekend!

This is some of the inspiration I worked with when designing for them:
I collected these images (and more, see my mood board on pinterest) in light of their unique expertise and brand characteristics – each image holds special significance:
- Inspiration: Aphrodite, Greek goddess of love, and Greek art history. Image via pinterest
- Last century’s designer to the stars: Madame Grès, whose muse was classical greek fashion. Image via pinterest
- Moscha from Stella and Moscha asked me to be inspired by the classical Greek Meandros pattern, as seen in this piece
- The wedding designers’ work is top notch, they work with designer hotels and for international brides – these Louboutin’s signified this for me
- Grace Santorini Hotel, one of the boutique hotels Stella and Moscha work with
- This image visualized their brand feeling for me: Celebrating, warm Mediterranean sea breeze, warmth, luxury, joy of life! Image via pinterest
- Greek Stefanas, traditional wedding crowns. Moscha loved these as inspiration, and we played with the thought of using them in the design!
I’ll share more details soon! In the meantime, start dreaming of a vacation in Greece – like I am right now! – and indulge in Stella and Moscha’s beautiful event design galleries.
Happy weekend everyone!
Honored to be featured on Grace Ormonde
Right for the weekend, I am happy to raise the glass to celebrate: not only did Andrea & Marcus recently invite me to contribute illustrated design accents to a styled wedding photo shoot at the historically relevant hotel Beau Rivage on lake Geneva, Switzerland, but – are you ready? -
the blog of the reputable wedding design magazine Grace Ormonde just featured the photos, along with my work!
I’m so thrilled! Andrea is not only an incredibly nice and generous person, but she’s truly multi-talented: apart from creating marvelous photography, she also selected the venue, the lovely couple Danielle & Patric (who had just gotten married), the fashion, and she also organized and art directed everything. Here are a few glimpses, with courtesy of the AndreaandMarcus blog – enjoy!

Thank you so much again Andrea for letting me contribute illustrated design accents and stationery to this wonderful styled shoot. You created true magic! It was – and always is – a great pleasure working with you.

Destination Alaska: final wedding illustration revealed
Last week, I had shared sketches with you of Corinne and TJ’s wedding illustration. It’s time to reveal the last design step with you: drumroll…. today I’ll let you take a really close look at the finished wedding invitation design!
First a photo of Corinne Grace and her pilot sweetheart (and now husband), TJ:

How I developed the wedding stationery of Grace and TJ
Last Friday, I teased you with a sneak peek of Grace and TJ’s special Alaska wedding stationery. Today, you’re invited to see how their custom-tailored wedding invitation concepts were developed!
Of course, before anything else, there was a get-to-know-each-other call (which was so touching because Grace told me how she fell in love with TJ and kept trying to fly on his flights just to see him!). After our meeting over the phone, I invited them to share photos which I would use as additional inspiration for their personal wedding illustration.
Meet the lovely bride, Corinne Grace, and her sweetheart pilot, TJ!

And this is his beautiful float plane:

By now, I was totally inspired. Wedding illustration and stationery design ideas were flying through my mind…I was ready to start the design concept phase!
I created these three rough design-concept ideas for the cover of their wedding invitation sketches:
Concept 1: Features TJ’s airplane, island hopping, just like when they met!

Concept 2: Both of them in his airplane, their love playfully imagined with flying hearts.

Concept 3: A different take on Concept 2, flying loops, er, hearts!

Come back next week to hop on board for the next design step!
