Wedding inspiration Ralph Lauren’s Bugatti 1938 – part II
Last week, I probably made you all giddy with curiosity about how you could incorporate this car…
Ralph Lauren’s Bugatti 1938 Type 57 SC
… as inspiration into your wedding. Well, of course there would be many possibilities!
You could work with the shape of this car in your wedding design, be inspired by its colors (chrome and shiny black), or let the entire era of the 1930s act as a muse for your wedding style.
If you commissioned me to illustrate for you, I would first speak with you personally to learn your style preferences and what your vision is. Let’s assume you are looking for very unique personalized design accents, something meaningful and elegant, but also a bit playful. In that case, I might suggest starting your celebration with a personalized save the date card, featuring an illustration of you and you fiancé, kind of like this:
This could be the cover of your save the date card.
The inside of your card could look like this:
…showing you in a Bugatti 1938 57SC, driving through your stationery, tossing your bouquet!

After this save the date card concept, your invitation and wedding celebration could be more classical or you could keep the touch of whimsy and add additional illustrated wedding design accents such as cute guest favors or a cake-topper.
If you love the idea of a personalized wedding illustration , of your own, I’m looking forward to hearing from you!
Unique Wedding Inspiration: Ralph Lauren’s Bugatti 1938
What if your wedding design could be touched by the luxury of one of the hottest cars ever made, the Bugatti 57SC Atlantic 1938?
While most of us could never afford this luxurious automobile (only four were ever made, only two exist today, one of which recently sold for $23 million), if you love this car, using it as inspiration I could help you to incorporate it into your wedding. How?
I’ll be mysterious this time – come back in a week to see!
In the meantime, if you are in Paris, you may like to see this amazing piece of automobile design live at the Ralph Lauren car exhibition!
Read more about the exhibition here, on the museum’s website.
Honored to be featured on Grace Ormonde
Right for the weekend, I am happy to raise the glass to celebrate: not only did Andrea & Marcus recently invite me to contribute illustrated design accents to a styled wedding photo shoot at the historically relevant hotel Beau Rivage on lake Geneva, Switzerland, but – are you ready? -
the blog of the reputable wedding design magazine Grace Ormonde just featured the photos, along with my work!
I’m so thrilled! Andrea is not only an incredibly nice and generous person, but she’s truly multi-talented: apart from creating marvelous photography, she also selected the venue, the lovely couple Danielle & Patric (who had just gotten married), the fashion, and she also organized and art directed everything. Here are a few glimpses, with courtesy of the AndreaandMarcus blog – enjoy!

Thank you so much again Andrea for letting me contribute illustrated design accents and stationery to this wonderful styled shoot. You created true magic! It was – and always is – a great pleasure working with you.

Unusual Wedding Inspiration: Temperature & Textures
When thinking of design, we tend to think about the visual aspects first. In case you are currently planning your wedding, here’s some different inspiration:
What if you asked your wedding planner to draw on temperature and texture as wedding design muse?
For example, take a look at this mood board where I drew inspiration from winter (crystal, glass, ice, cool tones) and juxtaposed them to warmth (and soft velvet, fur, lush dark tones):

As I create custom-tailored wedding illustrations, I visualize the couple’s personality, story, and style. Using the above style inspiration, I could create an elegant, fashion-inspired illustration, and then continue the play on textures by printing on really smooth paper that feels cool to the touch, with velvet tactile accents. If you are intrigued, email me! Thus far, I haven’t worked with this concept yet, so you would be the very first to amaze your guests this way!
