Meaningful wedding ideas
While I love gorgeous, one of a kind weddings, celebrations that express love in a meaningful way really make my heart beat faster!
Here are some ideas that I find really beautiful!
Handfasting, a tradition from Ireland:
In this Irish ceremony with Celtic roots, a couple’s hands are bound together while exchanging vows. When they’re finished, the tie is removed to symbolize that the couple is now bound together through their love…which leads me to another lovely idea I came across:
Signing wedding vows inscribed in beautiful calligraphy during the ceremony:
Your wedding vows captured in calligraphy
Not only a very sweet notion, vows written in calligraphy make an exquisite piece of art to keep as a memento. This example was designed by the very talented Nicole Black (The Left Handed Calligrapher), whom I was thrilled to meet in Zurich a few days ago! I’d love to work with her in the future to create a joint stationery design featuring both an illustration and her exquisite calligraphy. Now I just have to wait for the right couple that would love that concept!
Another meaningful idea I love is a wedding wish tree:
Guests leave their wishes for the couple on note cards hung on a pretty tree arrangement instead of in a traditional guestbook. Done elegantly, a wedding wish tree could be a magnificent design accent at a wedding! Recently, I designed a wish tree card for my clients Mayer and Luciano. The card featured a bespoke wedding illustration I created for them and was placed by their tree to invite guests to leave a note. As soon as I get a few high-resolution photos from their wedding, I’ll share them with you!
