In this newsletter, I was able to show amaaaaazing photos from Andrea and Marcus, with permission of the couple Moscha & Nikos. Lifting the Buckingham Letter Mystery
Last week, I promised to reveal a secret today about the letter I received from Buckingham Palace regarding an illustrated wedding stationery design concept I proposed for His Royal Highness and his lovely fiancée.
I can’t believe their wedding will be so soon…I can’t wait to see it! They’re such an adorable couple, aren’t they?

His Royal Highness Prince William of Wales and Miss Catherine Middleton
Moreover, they are all about charity – the first thing you see on their official wedding website is the charitable trust fund they opened to invite donations in lieu of wedding gifts. Admirable!
In any case, I won’t make you wait any longer – this is the letter I received from the Office of HRH Prince William of Wales and HRH Prince Henry of Wales, in reply to my wedding stationery proposal:
The hand signed letter I received from Buckingham Palace
Of course I didn’t expect to be chosen as the exclusive stationery designer to the Royal Wedding (thank you SO MUCH, though, if you almost believed it for me!!). Honestly, I didn’t even expect to hear back from them at all. British royal nuptials follow a long tradition, and in most of the wedding details, there isn’t much room for unique design approaches such as fashion-inspired, illustrated wedding invitations. Can you imagine what an amazing honor it would have been, though? Dream…
Oh, by the way, this is the official royal wedding invitation design:
Thanks again for being excited for me, and for all your comments last week. Your support and trust in my work means the world to me. Have a great Friday and a marvelous weekend, everyone!
Honored by mail from Buckingham Palace
Earlier this year, Aisledash invited me to design bespoke wedding stationery inspired by His Royal Highness Prince William and Kate Middleton. The honor of being one of the few artists published on Aisledash (thank you again, Anne!) inspired me to be bold. So, summoning all my courage, I sent off tailor-made wedding illustration and stationery design suggestions directly to Buckingham Palace, to the attention of The Royal Couple. I didn’t really expect a reply – they must be inundated by mail these days!
I had assumed wrong as I actually received this shortly thereafter:
Even though I didn’t dare to get too excited, I still felt giddy inside. Who wouldn’t be thrilled by the notion of designing for His Royal Highness Prince William and Kate Middleton?! I took my time opening the envelope, enjoying the moment and savoring the tiniest glint of possibility.
Buckingham Palace has their own post office! Who would have known?
I opened it, unfolding a beautifully designed royal stationery:
The handsome crest of St. James’s Palace was printed in thermography. Very elegant and dignified.
Well? What did they say? I’ll be mean and reveal the secret next Friday. Feel free to hate me now! All comments are welcome! Hate or love, no matter (smile).
