An ode to fabulous friends beyond business
Being an illustrator and brand designer I am so fortunate to be able to work from anywhere in the world… Goodbye to the days where friends were only made in person and – hello, world! – in which the most amazing people can be just a few keystrokes away! Since I opened the doors to my first design business in Switzerland (Atelier Giselle – illustrations and brand design for modern women), back in 2006, and even more so since I moved over to US soil for my second design company within the wedding industry niche, I’ve met countless inspiring and talented business professionals through my branding work and collaborations.
One of them is Beverly Harris from Beverly Harris Weddings in Beverly Hills (yes that really is her real name and she does design weddings in Beverly Hills). B-b-b-b Beverly…! Sorry this nineties song just came to my mind, with all those “Beverlies” in that sentence ha! Whatever the case, not only is Beverly a super talented Los Angeles wedding designer (make sure to also check out her fashion-filled blog THE BEVERLY HILLS INSIDER), but she’s also a very nice person. Look what she surprised me with, out of the blue, a few weeks ago!

A beautiful calligraphy note, to thank me for working with her! Isn’t she a darling!
- Thank you again very much, Beverly! -

Isn’t it a wonderfully thoughtful and beautiful inspiration for ourselves, to surprise people who mean a lot to us (or follow-up with business contacts) in this manner? Calligrammes will remain in my mind for the future for sure, I just love the concept! And of course I’m proud of Beverly as my branding client, because she used a creative communication approach that is so elegantly in line with her brand (she’s all about weddings, design, and personalized details)!

Thank you Astrid! You’re simply the best and also very creative. I can’t wait to see what stewing for 2013.
